If you were going to go to Mars, what three things would you bring?
Believe it or not, the question often arises in a job interview. One reason is to test your creativity. The other reason is to see how you behave under pressure. Do not get discouraged and hopeless if you get this question.
Do not show the interviewer that you are fragile. Begin your answer with the statement:
- I try to answer this question, but please be advised I never took astronomy courses [or I did not study astronomy for so long so most of it is already forgotten]
After that, give your answer. You can answer like this: the first option is that you bring an expert in that field. The second is oxygen so that you can breathe in the environment, and the third is fuel in order to go home again.
Two of the three answers that you choose show that you pay attention to the basics. The other option, which is an expert, demonstrates your ability to entrust en expert to do the things that you cannot handle so it will become teamwork. From the question that seems strange, interviewers were able to get an assessment of some of the things of you.
