The letter of recommendation which is also more known as the reference letter can be defined as the document designed to add extra weight and merit to the job or college application. Usually, this kind of letter is written by the supervisor, colleague, teacher, or friend.
There are some different kinds of recommendation letters, but he three main ones are those for employment, for university applications, and character references. For those who want to apply as a judge, this thing called letter of recommendation can be an addition to the basic essentials. As part of the application, the judge candidate often need to write this kind of written reference.
How to the structure the content of your letter of recommendation for judge candidate? There are 7 basic parts in the letter of recommendation that will ensure it hits every point needed to write the strong and compelling letter of recommendation.
The first one is contact information and letterhead. Ideally, some things like your own name, address, and contact information should be located in the letterhead at the top of the page. if there is no letterhead, you can place this information above the date on the top left side of the page. Otherwise, the very first thing that located in the top right side of the page has to be the current date, followed by the addressee’s name, title, company or school name, and then address.

The third one is the introduction: how to know the applicant. You can start it by expressing the sincere recommendation of the applicant, explain who you are and your relationship with the person that you are recommending. If it is needed, you can mention how long you have known them.
The fourth one is the academic, personal, or professional achievements of the applicant. This one is located in the second paragraph that outlines the relevant academic or professional strengths of the applicant. You can include one or two specific and detailed examples that demonstrate the applicant truly does possess those strengths.
The fifth one is personal traits and characteristics. This one can be placed in the third paragraph which is all about personality. You can include details of the applicants positive personality traits and examples that clearly showcase them.
The sixth one is explanation of applicant’s departure. This one is optional. You can use this one only when writing letter of recommendation for employment. This one also can be included in cases when the reason of the applicant leaving is either neutral or positive.
The last one is format guide which consists of do not exceed one page in length, use a size 12 font, stick to basic front styles, 1”-1.5” is the best spot for margins, and maintain the left alignment throughout the whole page.
