Mr. Tony Rupert
St. Maria Elementary School

Fort Lauderdale, FL 65488
Dear Mr. Rupert,
I am writing this cover letter to apply for an Elementary Math Teacher with St. Maria Elementary School. I am an education professional who has been teaching math to elementary school for the past 7 years.
As you will see in the attached resume, I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and also obtained Certification in Mathematics and Computers. Throughout my academic career, I honed my communication, creativity and motivational skills. I have a commitment to fostering collaborative and exciting educational environments. It positions me to successfully encourage and develop productive and accomplished students.
Highlight of my core qualifications include:
- Outstanding leadership, patience, interpersonal, organizational and time management abilities.
- Mathematics teaching certification.
- Choosing and preparing curricula, administering, assigning homework and grading test and also modifying lessons to guarantee comprehensive student understanding of the topic.
With my experience and credentials, I am well-prepared to dedicate myself at your school. I am also certain to exceed your expectations for this position. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss about this position. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
As you can see in the example above that it is better for you to know the name of the hiring manager. So, you are able to make the good salutation by mentioning their name such as “Dear Ms. Paula”, “Dear Mr. Andreas”. It is not recommended for you to use general or casual salutation such as “Hi”, “To Whom It May Concern”, “Dear Nevada Public Schools Administrator”.
Then, when you make a cover letter, make sure that you use a standard font. Choose the font which is clean and basic so that the reader will understand your words easily. Never use huge blocks of text. In a letter, unbroken paragraphs will look like the ramblings of a manifesto. How about the length? A cover letter should not more than a page. So, make sure that your letter is not very long but you can include all the things that you need to explain.
