Example of a Customer Service Cover Letter
Whenever you want to apply for a job, it is important to know what exactly it is. Take for example if you are about to send cover letter for a customer service position. The employers will ask you whether you are familiar with this job. It is important to find out if you are aware enough with the distinctions and levels of customer service.
Customer service is the act of taking care of the customer’s needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance before, during and after the customer’s requirements are met. There are different types of customer service depending on the product or service that a business provides, what the customers’ needs are, and whether the service is problem-oriented or focused towards enhancing the customer’s experience. They are including call center, customer service stations and technical customer service. To be a good customer service, you should have some characteristics:
- Politeness – is almost a lost art. You should get used with the polite expressions like saying “hello”, “good afternoon” or “thank you”.
- Promptness – promises for delivery of products must be on time.
- Personalization – using the customer’s name is very effective in producing loyalty.
- Professionalism – all customers should be treated professionally.
If you are interested with the job as a customer service, you need to include two things in your cover letter, i.e. your experience and your enthusiasm for serving clients. New job seekers can land a job if they show their attitude for dealing with different customers and helping solve problems. Make sure you write your own cover letter with the more detail and specific to you and your talents.

Dear Ms. Brown:
This week on JobSearchJimmy.com I saw your post for an opening as a customer service representative at your department store. Taking care of people and helping them resolve conflict is something I’m good at and something I love to do. I worked in Betty’s Clothing Shop for three years and was voted the number one client care rep two years in a row.
Now I’m looking for a bigger opportunity in a larger venue. I’m available to meet and talk over this job at any time that suits you. If you’re interested, please phone me at 777-777-7777. Thank you ahead of time for considering me for the job.
